On Thursday 17th October 2019, representatives of Brookwood Club presented a framed photo of the Peace Tea photograph taken in July 2019 at Brookwood Cemetery.
Caz Halls, Liam Brennan and Mandi Parish presented the frame that included a list of the 2019 participants, a copy of the original 1919 photograph, and information on the history of the Peace Dinner and Peace Tea events. The Mayor, Cllr Beryl Hunwicks gratefully received the frame on behalf of the Council.
Join us from one o’clock this Saturday afternoon to help commemorate 100 years since members of Brookwood Club participated in the Peace Dinner on 24 July 1919 to celebrate the end of the Great War and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
There will be cream teas, sandwiches and cakes all supplied by the W.I.
